God With Us

"When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city stirred and asked, 'Who is this?' The crowds answered, 'This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee' " (Matt.21:10-11).

This part of the gospel marked by today's verse is what we commonly refer to as The Triumphal Entry. It begins Jesus' last week on earth. In response to Philip's request of Jesus to "show us the Father," Jesus said; "Don't you know Philip, even after I have been among you for such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (Jn.14:8-9). Jesus in no uncertain terms makes the claim to be God. I guess this must have been difficult to process because He was a flesh and blood human with feelings and sensitivities. But this flesh and blood person can do things that no other before Him can not even imagine. "Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven' " (Lk.7:48). Jesus had (has) the power to do the unimaginable... He can forgive sins. He was also able to do something that no other person could do....He could hear God's voice and respond to it. "These words you hear are not my own" (Jn.14:24)......"All that belongs to the Father is mine" (Jn.16:15)....."I gave them the Word you gave to me" (Jn.17:8)....His words are the words that come from heaven. They are loud, true and powerful. As he lives His life here on earth, it is not only a physical life that He lives but also the life of God. Jesus was God come down from heaven in flesh and blood form. These thoughts are so awesome that words just cannot do them justice...The prophet Isaiah gave Him the name Immanuel 700 years before his birth...."And they will call Him Immanuel ---- which means, God with us" (Matt.1:23). Only Jesus has the words of life for us....The words from God, His Father....

Have a great day...Go about doing good... Love mark Phil. 4:11
