Let God Out Of The Box

"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jer.29:12-13).

We all store stuff in boxes and put those boxes somewhere for future use. For this reason, we tend to use the term keeping something in a box in a different vein. As humans, we have "mental boxes" for things. When we have certain expectations as to how people will react to things under certain circumstances, we have put them in a box....Do we keep God in a box, only to be let out at our own convenience? On Friday I wrote a devotional about Jesus getting mad at the money-changers in the temple. Among the reasons that Jesus got mad was explained in His statement, "My Temple will be a house of prayer for all nations." (Matt.21:13). God wants to be let out of any box that we have created for Him and to be involved in our lives. Today's verse lets us know the stipulation....He will visit, but wants to be invited. That invitation does not come via some magical or mysterious method, but by prayer. His promises should incite us to pray so that He will enter our life and become actively involved. Otherwise, He will stay in the box that we may have created for Him. There is a problem in trying to solve a problem that requires supernatural work, with natural powers. It is always a wonderment in our lives when we experience the personal power of prayer. Like laser guided weapons, prayer can hit it's intended target. Lets remember that boxes are for stuff...They are not intended for us to put people in, and are certainly not meant for God. "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.....You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Out of the box and into our life where He wants to be when our temples are houses of prayer...

Have a great start to your week...Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
