Newer And Better

"Without God, we cannot....Without us, God will not"

Attributed to Augustine 334-430

Yesterday I wrote about us being works in progress. We are kind of like an area of road construction, designed to be a better passage, but inconvenient for a time. I really like today's quote, which is generally attributed to Augustine, but not substantiated. Maybe you can find out for me where it came from...God is interested in us, but will not get involved in our lives if we don't invite Him in. His real desire for us is to come to salvation. There are some important issues that we must deal with to allow God to complete His purpose for our salvation. When we come to God through faith, confession and obedience into baptism, is the Lord now finished with us? Quite the contrary, this is just the beginning of our walk with Him. "And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will" (Rom.8:27). He is ready and willing to continue the work that has begun by allowing the Holy Spirit to intercede for us in accordance with God's will....In other words, this is God's will for us! We need to be ready to meet with Jesus Christ and to consummate our salvation...We should have this confidence and assurance. One of the tired cliches used in sports is: "We just playum one game at a time." Well this cliche actually applies to us today as Christians as we live out each day. Each day ought to be a day of renewal.."but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Rom.12:2). We need to be committed each and every day to start out under His umbrella of grace. It is so important that we have honor for His plan and purpose for our lives. Then we can live them with the assurance that God is with us and will not desert us until the job is completed.....

Have a great day...Let His light shine in you....Shine on others.....Love mark Phil.4:11
