You Gotta Have Heart

"A heart at peace give life to the body" (Pr.14:30).

I didn't have to search very hard to find a positive scripture concerning the heart.. If you look in a concordance you will find a multitude of verses about the heart. There are probably thousands of songs and poems written about the heart....So what is this heart. thing that captivates so much thought in scripture, poem and song? In the 1992 presidential race, the Clinton campaign stumbled on a slogan that would become their winning theme...Do you remember? "It's about the economy, stupid." I will be much more polite when I coin my little catch-phrase..."It's all about your heart!" Our hearts. are at the very core of our being. They are at the center of our physical, spiritual and mental life. Our heart. is what thinks...It is what feels....It is what decides....God calls out to each of us through our hearst.. He calls on us to have a soft heart.....He calls on us to have a pure heart.....He calls on us to have an open heart....I think that the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-15) is about what a good heart. is supposed to do...It would be a good set of verses for us to read and meditate upon today. The heart. is to hear the Word. That doesn't mean to just physically hear it but read and be open to it. A good heart. will keep the Word and allow God to put roots down. These roots should be firmly planted within our hearts. and cause us to be faithful. Finally, hearing the Word and taking it to our hearts. ought to make us fruitful. We should have an abundant crop of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The old song says; "You've gotta have heart, all you really need is heart. When the odds are sayin' you'll never win, that's when the grin should start...You've gotta have heart......"

Have a great day....Let your heart move you to go about doing good.... Love mark Phil.4:11
