Questions Of Life - Who Am I

"'Meaningless! Meaningless!' says the teacher. 'Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless'" (Ecc.1:2).

There are many people in the world that are searching for the meaning of life. Lots of self-help books have been written that try to answer just that question..."What is the meaning of life?" Today's verse is the beginning of King Solomon's search to answer that question. It doesn't start out on a very positive note, does it? Perhaps the problem in the search for this meaning is thwarted by a few issues. One is that they are looking in the wrong places. The Book of Ecclesiastes is all about looking in the wrong places. Perhaps another problem is that many are just waiting for the meaning to suddenly appear..I believe that the Bible, especially the New Testament provides some wonderful insight into this question .I would like to break down the search into a few basic areas...Today lets look at the question of just who we are...In the Book of Genesis we get the first important clue. "So God created man in His own image" (1:27). I believe this to mean that we are made in the spiritual image of God. To the Athenians in the Book of Acts, the apostle Paul said this about who we are; "For in Him we live and move and have our being. As some of your poets have said, 'we are His offspring'" (17:28). Jesus tells us in Matt.16:26 that we have a soul and that it is worth more than the whole world. Lastly, we are told in the Book of Romans about the limitless nature of God's love through Jesus Christ. "Neither death or life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus" (8:38-39). The Bible explains to us just who we are, and quite frankly, I'm impressed....

Have a great day....Through Christ we can make a difference... Love mark Phil.4:1
