A Purposeful Life

"There is one body and one Spirit---just as you were called to one hope when you were called----one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all" (Eph.4:4-5).

There are a lot of folks out there who are searching for a purpose in life. So where is that purpose? Is it to consume? Is it to dominate? Is it to possess? A guess that there are few questions that I might pose about this purpose. Just why do we do what we are doing? The next question is a bit more interesting and involved. When we get to where we are going, where will we be? How we spend our lives determines just how happy and successful that we will be. Again I have a few more questions regarding purpose in our lives and these pertain to it's very core. We just can't go it alone, so is there someone important and critical enough out there that can affect my entire life? We all feel guilt from time to time. Is there someone out there who can free us from personal guilt? Most of us have a security issue or two, so is there someone who can give us total security? Most of us function better when there is some order in our lives, so is there someone who can give me the blueprint for living? Lastly, is there more to life than the few years that we have in this body? Is there someone that can promise us a wonderful life after death? The answer to all of these questions is a resounding YES! Jesus wants to provide us with all of those things that I view as purposeful living. He wants to do this by being our Savior. He wants to do this by being our Lord. There simply is no real meaning and purpose in life without God! Though the world might take the view that we are to just consume, dominate and possess, God wants our lives too be more meaningful. We get to live as children of light. "For the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth'"(Eph.5:9). With the Lord we will know what we are doing and where we are going. Life can be really good....

Have a great beginning to your week...This will be my last devotional for this week. I hope to resume next Monday...Start out this week with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
