Relating To God

"Speak to all the assembly of God and say to them: 'Be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy'" (Lev.19:1).

Did you ever see a child (or an adult) put their hands over their ears and shout, "I can't hear you.....I'm not listening?" It is a child-like response to hearing something that they do not want to "listen" to. In trying to perceive God and relate to Him, we must do so in His terms. By this I mean that God reveals Himself to us only in His way. If you have ever read about the the Gods of Greek mythology you know that they had human form. They fought, lied and stole things from one another. Their worshipers then thought that it was alright to do the same. "The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. they have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them" (Ps.135:15-18). We can't play "I can't hear you, I'm not listening" when it comes to getting a real perception of God! God attacks the human tendency to come up with the wrong or improper image of Him...He is not just another "national God" that existed at the time of the Israelites..."Then have them build a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them" (Ex.25:8). Today we are that sanctuary that God wants to dwell in. When He does, he elevates the daily to the holy. He changes those around us for the better by changing us. He tells us; "be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy."

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with a RAK.... Love mark Phil.4:11
