Scripture Trumps Man's Words

"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place......Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy" (Rev:1: 1 & 3).

Did you ever play the card game "war" when you were a child? A simple refresher is that all the cards in the deck are dealt out to all the players involved and each player lays down one at a time. The person with the highest card wins...A tie causes a "war." We are all aware of the ascending value of all cards in a deck. I have taken this circular route to say the God's words outweigh man's. This ought to be just as plain to us as a queen being a higher card than a jack. So that I don't come off as some sort of zealot, there are words of man that are certainly important and ought to be heeded. In legal matters we heed the advice of a lawyer and when it come to our health we need to listen to the doctor. When our spiritual health is at stake however, God's words outweigh man's...Why? God's words are from God and contain truths that are eternal. Laws change and medicine advances, but God's words have always met man's needs. I had a hip replacement last November. I followed my surgeon's advice for the ensuing months so that the outcome would be successful. We must read God's word on a daily basis so that our outcomes will be successful. We must read it and take it to heart to have it do it's intended work. The card game war was fun because everything was clear-cut and the rules were easily followed and obeyed. And so it is with the Word of God. Through our obedience we will live the Word, walking the path in life that God has intended...With God's Word within us, it is a great walk...Tomorrow is a travel day.....No devotional....

Have a wonderful day.....Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
