Enter To Worship - Leave To Serve

"So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God" (1 Cor,10:31).

The way that I might view my everyday life is the way that God looks at us from a holy perspective. I am thinking about putting the title of today's devotional on our church sign next week..For the sake of today's devotional, it may take on a slightly different slant. I say this because service does not simply grow out of worship, but is in a sense the essence of worship itself. Worship ought to change our lives.. In teaching how potential energy is changed to kinetic, I used to bring an old wristwatch with a mainspring into class. Since most of them grew up with the newer digital watches, it was a good lesson. When wound, the mainspring is coiled up and gives off it's energy to move the watch's hands as it uncoils. I view worship in the Christian life as that mainspring as it gives us the energy necessary to go through each day. Next, true worship is what connects me with others as I connect to God....It's the old vertical and horizontal thing. Unfortunately, fellowship is sometimes viewed as a pleasant chat with each other after services. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds...Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another"....As we reach up to God and Jesus in worship, we share this experience with one another. This fellowship is what we share as a part of God's family. Like we engage the clutch in a standard transmission car to get it in gear, fellowship engages us with others. We connect spiritually through this interaction and build our love for each other...

Have a great day....Let your light shine for Him... Love mark Phil.4:11
