The Holy Spirit Waterfall

"In the last days, God says, 'I will pour my Spirit on all people....Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour my Sprit in those days" "Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you see and hear now" (Acts 2:17-18, 33).

Waterfalls, even small one are fascinating to see. Jane and I have hiked a few miles on several just to see relatively small ones. Depending on their size, the power of the water when it hits the bottom is enormous. The Holy Spirit that was poured out on the disciples on the day of Pentecost was just that powerful. It was so powerful that Peter spoke to people of many nationalities on that day, and they all understood in their own language...."and has poured out what you see and hear now." The initial result of this pouring out of the Holy Spirit on that day, like a waterfall, had fantastic amount of energy and made a great impact. The apostles were able to perform great feats and speak truths through its power. The water continued with great power as it cascaded like mighty rapids. So...What does all of this have to do with you and I? If I might continue this metaphor, (or analogy...I get them mixed up) you and I are downstream. The evidence of the great power in the initial outpouring is less visible. We don't have the enormous power of the apostles, but the Spirit's role in our lives is still present. "He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior" (Titus 3:5-6). The Spirit is responsible for our rebirth and regeneration. Finally, as we read about the "fruit of the Spirit" in Galatians 5:22-23, we see the Spirit's role in our spiritual growth. The power that originated at the waterfall is still present in us downstream....More tomorrow...

Have a great start to your week...Begin it with a RAK.... Love mark Phil.4:11
