Taking The Test

"I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test" (2 Cor.13:6).

Verses 5 though 10 of 2 Corinthians 13 would be good ones for us to read and meditate upon today. I talked yesterday about the dreaded pop-quiz. Today we will get to the real test. Those are the one's on the schedule that we should know about and be prepared for. Here are some important questions that will be on that test... Do I really know Jesus? We must realize that when we accept Jesus into our lives that getting to know Him better and better each day is a requirement. I need to answer this question correctly. Am I all in for Jesus? By that I mean is my life totally committed to Him? There is no halfway answer to this question...It must be a resounding yes...In my faith, am I being humble and selfless? There is no room for an arrogant spirit in the Christian life as we seek to do what is good and right. Am I determined to follow the truth of God's Word? "For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth" (V 8). This question requires that we read and meditate upon God's Word often...Does my life reflect an interest in the growth of others? "Each of you should look not only at your own interests, but also on the interests of others" (Phil.2:4). Our love needs to be bigger than their shortcomings..Here's the last question. Am I in the business of building up, or the tearing down? My dad always told me that honey works better than vinegar when we deal with people. We should always put encouragement in front of criticism. "that when I come I may not have to be harsh in the use of my authority----the authority that the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down" (V 10). So....How did we all do on the test? Lets all make an A....

Have a great day...Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
