Real Faithfulness

"You yourselves have seen everything the Lord has done to all the nations for your sake; it was the Lord who fought for you.....So be very careful to love the Lord your God" (Josh.23:3 & 11).

Unfortunately, the world views success in a different way than God does. It seems that wealth, beauty, power and status are the world's measurement of a successful life. I believe that God measures our lives by how faithful we have been. If wealth, power, beauty or status have come our way, it's alright as long as we have been faithful to Him. Faithfulness must be the priority. In the twenty third chapter of the book named for him, Joshua attempts to convince the people of this. He says that the road to faithfulness leads through our attitude toward God. In verse 3 it is about seeing what the Lord has done and honoring Him. "Be very strong; be very careful to obey all that is written in the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or left" Here in verse 6 it is about obeying the Lord through His Word. The Lord wants our obedience..."But you are to hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now" Verse 8 says that the Lord wants our loyalty. This is a trait that people everywhere desire, and the Lord wants it even more. Last, but certainly not least is what we find in verse 11. "So be very careful to love the Lord your God." The apostle Paul puts it very succinctly when he says, but the greatest of these is love....I think that the road to true faithfulness goes through honoring God, obeying Him, being loyal to Him and loving Him...In life, this is real success...So...How successful are we?

Have a wonderful start to your week....Begin it with a RAK (or two).... Love mark Phil.4:11
