Confidence In A Commitment To Faithfulness

"Now I am about to go the way of all earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed...Every promise has been fulfilled, not one has failed" (Josh.23:14).

There are probably people in our lives that we have a lot of confidence in. There might be several reasons for this confidence, but one of them is more than likely their track record...If they have been good about fulfilling their promises in the past, it bodes well that they would continue in the same vein. God requires that we make a total commitment to Him...A commitment of faithfulness. As Joshua is coming to the end of his life on earth he gives the people ample evidence as to why they can keep this commitment to faithfulness. "You know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed." Just as Joshua has said this to his people, he is saying it to us..Our confidence to stay committed to faithfulness springs from the fidelity of the Lord our God through His words and deeds. The only part of the agreement that is at risk is our part. When we fail to repent or we tolerate sin in our life, we run the risk of breaking the covenant. As the people in Joshua's day were tempted to enjoin the gods of the land they inhabited, we may be tempted by the gods of money, power and status. Jesus showed us the way to resist and God motivates us through His grace, awe and fidelity.."Every promise has been fulfilled, not one has failed." God's expectation for us is not perfection...It is a commitment to faithfulness...

Have a great day....Make a difference... Love mark Phil.4:11
