Feel Good Giving

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Cor.9:7).

We give a lot of money for a great many things in our lives. Food, clothing, housing and transportation come immediately to mind. I cannot tell anyone in this short writing about how much they ought to give back to the Lord. There are many good and bad things that are attached to our money, so problems often arise. When it comes to giving, are we defensive or generous? Have we become typecast in our giving or are our minds open? Do we view the money we give as ours or the Lord's? Does the money we give become our competitor or our partner? In the grand scheme of things do we really believe that everything we have is on loan from God and we are to be His stewards? I know that I have posed many questions here, but I think it would be good for us to meditate upon them. From everything that I read in the Bible, God wants His people to be generous rather than miserly. God doesn't put us on a guilt trip about giving, but I think our mind set ought to be; I have to give. From the standpoint of responsibility, there should be an, I ought to give mentality. We should view the needs that are filled though our giving and say, I want to give . In thanking the Lord for all of His blessings in our life, I can't help but give . Finally, as a part of our worship to God we should say, It is my nature to give. Accepting God's grace will lead us to generous giving and as we increase our gift, we can increase our faith also...

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with a RAK...or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
