Being Strange

"People are strange when you're a stranger, faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted, Streets are uneven, when you are down
."

Robbie Krieger and Jim Morrison 1967

"When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, 'He is out of His mind'" (Mk.3:21).

This may be a perfect topic for me in that people probably consider me strange in some ways...Out of curiosity, is there something about you that people find strange? If so, we may just find ourselves in very select company. In today's verse, Jesus' own family says that he is strange. In the next verse the teachers of law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub!" Now that's really "way" strange. In Acts 26:24 the Roman governor accused the apostle Paul of being insane. Paul's message was not an insane one but rather the words of life. "If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you" (2 Cor.5:13). Paul's mission to bring people to Christ was probably viewed by many in the world as strange. "For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died." (V 14). When we involve ourselves in Christ's death, we die also. We die to sin...When we take Jesus into our lives, we no longer view people through the lens of human sight, but through His. We commit ourselves to a message.... a message of reconciliation. Our theology can be understood in these words; "God made Him that had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God" (V 21). I'm really getting into this strange and stranger concept....More about it tomorrow.

Have a great day....Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
