The Joy Of The Lord Is My Strength

"This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Neh.8:10).

In 1971 Alliene G. Vale took the words from today's verse and fashioned a wonderful song. Three of the verses (I found two more) comprise that simple song found in our hymn book. It is entitled simply, "The Joy of the Lord." You know how you can get a song running through your mind? Well this one has been running through mine since we sang it last night at our mid-week Bible study. "The joy of the Lord is my strength, The joy of the Lord is my strength, The joy of the Lord is my strength, The joy of the Lord is my strength...He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more, He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more, He heals the broken hearted and they cry no more, The joy of the Lord is my strength...He gives me living water and I thirst no more, He gives me living water and I thirst no more, He gives me living water and I thirst no more, The joy of the Lord is my strength." If you don't have this song in your songbook, get back to me and I will send it to you. The message is so clear. We can be stronger as Christians through the joy that we find in our Lord Jesus Christ...."You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (Psa.16:11). Some people bring joy when the come into a room and others bring joy when they leave. A cheerful Christian makes the world a brighter place. They do this by reflecting the cheerful and glowing beams of Jesus' righteousness. Lets all glow some today..... More tomorrow....

Have a great day...Let the light of the Lord reflect from us today... Love mark Phil.4:11
