Finding The Treasure

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid.; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field" (Matt.13:44).

Human beings are God's most unique animal creation. Unalike our counterparts, we want to know where we came from and are concerned about more than survival and reproduction. Humans have concerns about right and wrong. We also ponder our origins and our destiny. The desire for this knowledge brings people to search for and reflect upon God. I think that the short parable of the hidden treasure tells us that we want to have a relationship with God..This treasure is what Jesus gave to humans. God reveals Himself to us through His Son and His kingdom. All the important issues of life are revealed to us from our behavior to sin...From forgiveness and reconciliation to our ultimate destination. Before the Lord's kingdom was established there was only despair, but through it chaos changes to hope. It seems that the man in today's parable had been digging without aim until he found the great treasure. He had nothing of his own that equaled it so he sold everything to possess it and he preceded to make the deal of his life. He was now able to see without seeing and hear without hearing. The parable is all about his desire to have this great and priceless treasure. It is reassuring to know that the great treasure is still available to mankind. The treasure is the kingdom of God. It is a privilege and blessing to be a part of it...

Have a wonderful day... Let Jesus' light shine through you... Love mark Phil.4:11
