The Kind Of Church We Need

"When you're weary, feeling small...When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all
I'm on your side when times get rough and friends just can't be found..
Like a bridge ever troubled water, I will lay me down...Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down..
"

Paul Simon 1969

The perfect church is made up of imperfect people. I believe that it was made specifically for imperfect people. We must be able to coexist with other imperfect people, because we have shared needs. We need to understand how to live gracefully with our own imperfections and those of others. "This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you; God is light; in Him is no darkness at all" (1 Jn.1:5). In our relationships with our brethren we ought to be grounded in shared experiences. This helps us to realize how much needs to be done for the church to function as it should. The church is to be made up of people that are willing to learn....Teachable people...As an educator, I learned that a class is made of people with different learning levels and rates. There needs to be a teaching spirit in the church that reaches out to all who are willing to learn. "We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up" (1 Cor.8:1). The more mature in the church should strive to be teachers. Their teaching spirit is one that is designed to "build up" rather than "puff up." It is such because it is grounded in love. "The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God" (V 2-3). The church should be a place where imperfect and teachable people try to learn about their perfect and loving God. It should be a bridge over troubled water....

Have a great start to your week...A RAK or two would begin it very well... Love mark Phil.4:11
