Turning From Doubt To Peace

"More holiness give me, More trust in the Lord, More pride in His glory, More hope in His Word.
More tears in His sorrows, More pain at His grief, More meekness in trial, More praise for relief
."

Philip. P. Bliss 1883

Just as the disciple Thomas had doubts about Jesus' resurrection, having not been at His appearance to the other disciples, doubts can creep into people's lives. To turn doubt into peace requires that we get as close to God as possible, especially through prayer. We must know in our hearts, that above all, God is in control and focusing on His promises is tantamount. As we strengthen our relationship with the Lord, it is important to strengthen it with our fellow Christians also. All of us go through rough patches and it is great to have people of belief and faith around us. We can share our concerns and accomplishments with those who are also trying to get closer to the Lord. Instead of a scripture, I wrote an excerpt from the hymn More Holiness Give Me. As we strive for holiness, we draw closer to God. It is good to spend time alone with Him in meditation. One on one is always more personal and intimate. The apostle Paul has some great advice for us in Phil.4:6-9. It would be a wonderful idea to read these verses and meditate upon them today. It tells us; "The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (V 7) It is wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of our life. We do our best when we fill our minds with things that are noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy...The best, not the worst.....the beautiful, not the ugly....things to praise, not to curse..."Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me-----put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you" (V 9). When we feed our faith, our doubts will starve...

Have a great day... Go about doing good Love mark Phil.4:11
