Dressing Well

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience" (Col.3:12).

I take that the expression "clothes make the man" means that appearance is very important to people. If we were going to a job interview, we would all dress appropriately. It is safe to say that dressing for an occasion is a wise thing to do if we do not want to be out of place. In today's verse, the apostle Paul does say that clothes make the man. In fact, he gives us a complete wardrobe that is fit for all occasions. It would be good for us to read Col.3:12-17 today and meditate upon it. We find here that we have offered to us a new type of life. He tells us how to clothe ourselves so that we will be pleasing to God. We are pleasing to Him when we exhibit Christ-like traits in our everyday walk. Paul goes on to write about having a forgiving spirit as he adds clothes to our wardrobe. "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity" (V 14). As Christians we are chosen by God to live according to His choosing. There are no shortcuts, gimmicks or easy ways to cultivate an intimacy with God. As we journey through life we find that His ways are the best ways. Clothing ourselves in such a way as to live the godly life. His apparel never goes out of style, never wears out and is fit for every occasion. Lets all dress well...

Have a wonderful day...Tell everyone that love wins.... Love mark Phil.4:11
