Full Throttle

"Success is not final...failure is not fatal...It is the courage to continue that counts."

Winston Churchill

Let me throw out a few questions..Do changes in success or failure affect in any way how we view God? Does success or failure determine how close you feel to God? Does a change in success or failure make us feel any more or less holy? We live in a fast-paced and success oriented world. The pace may be so frenetic that I might pose a fourth question...Can we get our foot off of the accelerator pedal long enough to answer the first three questions in a thoughtful and prayerful way? Sometimes we measure life in small successes, and I am not saying that this always is so bad. I think that problems may arise when small wins or losses overshadow or affect our relationship with God. When we accept the Lord into our lives, He takes us right from the stage in life that we are in. We enter into a kind of contract with Him, making certain promises. "In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight" (Prov.3:6). As we promise to acknowledge and trust Him, he promises to be a lamp for our feet and a light to our path. When we promise to be strong and faithful, He provides a way to resist sin and doubt. To see those things things at work in our lives, sometimes we must do that rose thing...You know....Slow down and smell the roses. There are no lives of complete success and none of abject failure. Our view of God must be a constant, no matter where we may be life. Our lives should not be measured by the highs and lows. God will always be there to help us deal the right way with both of them. Maybe we just need to ease off the throttle some so that we can echo the words of the Psalmist..."For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations" (100:5).

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with A RAK (maybe more) Love mark Phil.4:11
