The Enjoyment Of Peace

"But when a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him." (Prov.16:7).

In the Bible, the term peace is used to describe harmony between; God and man, men, nations, one's self. Peace is just a lovely word with a connotation of harmonious relationships. When a person finds himself in a spiritual stagnation, a lack of peace is often the culprit. As the apostle Paul ends his second letter to the church at Corinth, he does so with this appeal and exhortation; "Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you" (13:11). Peace is an important element which makes up part of the kingdom of God. Jesus brought us into a wonderful relationship with God through justifying us. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom.5:1). This not some warm and fuzzy subjective feeling, but a real and new objective status....A new relationship with God! If we want this peace to continue we must constantly pray for it, just as we do for joy and freedom from anxiety. Paul clinches this for us in a famous passage from the book of Philippians. After telling us to rejoice always, he writes: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (4:6-7). This peace is to be enjoyed....

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with a RAK or two..... Love mark Phil.4:11
