Listen Carefully

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge" (Psa.19:1-2).

I just got back from an early morning walk, and listened for God. The cool crisp air and the beauty of the newly green trees helped me to hear God's voice through the creation. The first four verses of the nineteenth Psalm would be good ones to read and meditate upon today. As a former science teacher, I love it as God reveals his wondrous glory through the handiwork of creation. It is another way that God says to us; Here I am....I exist! Whether it is day or night, we ought to take the time to consider the wonders of creation and be awed by it. The Psalmist did this often and recorded some of his musings in verse. Lets share some of them together today....David looked at himself and said: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (139:4). He looked up to the heavens and wrote: "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" (8:3-4). The Psalmist looks to the nautical realm and says: "How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number---living things both large and small" (104:24-25). How can someone look around and not say; AWESOME!!! I BELIEVE!!!

Have a great start to your week.... Begin it with a RAK or two......Love mark Phil.4:11
