A Bit More Goodness

"This is a trustworthy statement. And I want you to stress these things, that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone" (Titus 3:8).

I think that I have a bit more goodness in me. (Referring to yesterday's devotional)...."For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth" (Eph.5:8-9). When we are led by the Spirit of God, we will produce the fruit or quality of goodness. To me, this means that we will do things above and beyond what is expected or required. Such was the case with the people in the church at Rome that the apostle Paul wrote to. "I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge, and competent to instruct one another" (15:14). Do you think that Paul would have written this verse to you and I? I am convinced that the Lord is calling us to this goodness. He is saying that there are things to be said and done and His people are the ones that are supposed to be saying and doing them. God showed His magnificent goodness to us in the sending of Jesus. Jesus in turn showed that same wonderful goodness in becoming a sacrifice for us. As we contemplate goodness of God and Jesus.....As we meditate upon how the Holy Spirit helps us along our way.....We ought to allow that goodness to overflow in acts of kindness, love, and service to others.

Have a wonderful day... Go about doing good.... Love mark Phil.4:11
