Private Time - Quality Time

"I will rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises" (Psa 119:147-148).

I remember that not too long ago, a by-word for successful family life was about spending quality time with each other. Books have been written about just how to do that because I guess that its harder than it seems. Great men of the Bible were noted for spending quality time with God. "Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before" (Dan.6:10). This is Daniel and his daily prayer habits. "On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night" (Psa.63:6). This is the way David often communicated with God. "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed" (Mk.1:35). Jesus was also of the persuasion that private devotionals with God the Father were quality time...."But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matt.6:6). Jesus even advised His disciples to go off and pray in secret. He counseled them to spend this quality time with God. I believe that if we want an inner peace, shown through an outward stability, that private time is the way. If we want a stronger, more powerful spiritual life, one on one with God is the answer. If we want a closer walk with God, it ought to be hand in hand. Spending quality time is not just a catchy phrase...It should be a way of life....

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with a RAK or two..... Love mark Phil.4:11
