Prayer, Meditation, and Praise

"Do not be anxious about any thing, but by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Phil.4:6).

When it comes to engaging God, today's title encompasses the big three...Prayer....Meditation....Praise. These are the three best ways to commune with God. Hopefully, we do all of these things in our weekly worship services, but that's only a very small segment of the week. The big three ought to be an integral part of our private devotional life. Perhaps after you read this devotional, it would be good to engage in a time of meditation, prayer, or praise. God should have an important part in our private lives as well as our public ones. In public we can testify about God through our good deeds and kind words. In private we can contemplate His wonderful creative and redemptive works and give Him the praise He richly deserves. The prayers that are made on our behalf in public worship may not reflect everything that we want to share with God. Private prayer time, not restricted by others thoughts or words, can truly aver what we want to say to Him. We can confess our sins....We can make our very personal needs known to Him...We can give a personal thanks for our blessings... If we don't sing very well, we can make a wonderful melody of praise in our hearts. In our hearts we are Carnegie Hall performers as we respond to the joy that is within us. Lets just make sure that we allow time to talk with God through prayer and praise; Then listen to Him through contemplating and meditating on His Word...Lets all get into the big three....

Have a wonderful day...Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
