Our Inspired Bible

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit" (2 Pet.1:20-21).

Our amazing Bible is certainly a unique book. It was written from pinnacles of joy and pits of sorrow and despair. It was written on three different continents (Asia, Africa, Europe) and in three different languages. (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek). It was written over a 1,600 year span by approximately 40 authors from varied walks of life. The authors included a fisherman, physician, cup-bearer, herdsman, prime minister, tax collector, king(s), and tent-maker. Many controversial topics are written of including the nature of God and man, the origin of the universe, and man's forgiveness and salvation. If only several authors tackled this subject matter in just one generation, from one place, one walk of life, and one language, we would have quite a conglomeration of ideas. They would certainly not be harmonious... Today's verse gives us the insight we need to see the reason for the Bible's uniformity of thought...."no prophecy of scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation." To me, this provides ample evidence that the writers were all inspired by the same God....The true and Living God. The identity of the one true God is revealed to us through His inspired writers and He is the God of the Bible...That great book is His Word to us....

Have a wonderful day....Let His light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
