Oh, Those Prophesies

"See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you" (Isa.42:9).

The occult industry is a thriving one in the world. Many people want to know what their future holds, and are willing to pay for that information. In Biblical times, heathen gods would make claims to know about future events, but at every turn Bible prophets would show them to be frauds. Prophesies of the Old Testament told of future events when necessary. Their accuracy, scope, and detail went way past the depth of human speculation. In today's verse, the prophet Isaiah gives some insight into the prophesies that he had made. "The former things have taken place....new things I declare....Before they spring into being, I announce them to you".....Our all-knowing God used these prophesies and declared them as evidences of His existence and superiority. The prophets always attributed their knowledge of future events to God, who revealed it to them. I will give you a few of them, and you can look them up to bolster your faith in our omniscient God. Isaiah prophesied about the fall of Babylon, 200 years before it happened. (13:17-22) He also predicted that Egypt would fall as a result of civil unrest rather than outside forces. (19:1-4). The prophet Zephaniah predicted the utter destruction and desolation of Nineveh (2:13-15) and Ezekiel foretold of the fall of Tyre in great detail. (26:1-5). Our God was superior then, and is still superior today. It is reassuring to know that a God like this is still in control....

Have a wonderful day...Do good, give God the credit.... Love mark Phil.4:11
