Thank You

"Be joyful always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thess.5:16-18).

In this short, but important set of verses, we find that it is God's will that we; "be joyful always" (rejoice always NAS)....."pray continuously" (pray without ceasing NAS).....I would like to zero in on verse 18 today. "Give thanks in all circumstances (in everything give thanks NAS). Why you ask? "for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." The apostle Paul writes this in Eph.5:20: "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Those of us who have children certainly remember instructing them to say thank you when they received something. Gratitude is a godly trait that all of us should possess, and I believe that ingratitude displeases God. Paul, in the book of Colossians writes; "and overflowing with thankfulness." (2:7).... This thankfulness ought to be a part of our Christian wardrobe and a deserving compliment to all of our prayers. Thankfulness is a key that opens a wonderful door. "But in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Phil.4:6) OK.... This is the key, and the next verse tells us of the door that is opened...."And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." It is God's will for us to pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances, and thus be joyful always. I see a wonderful progression here culminating with our possession of a peace that transcends all understanding...Lets allow all of those thank you lessons pay off. Peace and joy....It doesn't get much better than that.....Thank you......

Have a wonderful day....Do good, give God the credit.... Love mark Phil.4:11
