Player Or Spectator?

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Est.4:14)

Have you ever wondered about what God's ultimate plan for you really is? Am I accomplishing what God wants me to accomplish, or is there something different awaiting me? Esther is facing this quandary in the Old Testament book that bears her name. The Jews were in captivity in Persia, and the king had deposed Vashti, his queen. A big beauty and talent show preceded this, and Esther was chosen to be the new queen. One of King Xerxes' right hand men named Haman, eaten up with rage, concocted a plot to not only kill his Jewish enemy Mordecai, but all the Jews throughout the kingdom. Today's verse is Mordecai's revelation to his niece. "And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" He lets her know that God will deliver the people by some other means, but puts the ball squarely in her court...Just how do we know when that ball is in our court? Even though it could mean her demise, Esther acts with boldness, and her people are saved. We might not know or recognize God's design, but we must be assured of this; God is not just some carefree and idle spectator in our lives. He isn't waiting on the sidelines, flipping a coin to decide whether or not He will intervene. God walks with His faithful servants. He has a purpose to accomplish, and we are the vehicles through which they are implemented. We must decide that we want to be players too, asking ourselves the question: "Has God brought me to this place and time so that His work will be accomplished?" Lets be assertive and bold the way Esther was...Lets be the player and not the spectator....

Have a great start to your week.... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
