Keeping The Wells Flowing

"Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation" (Isa.12:2-3).

Is there anything like a cold drink of water when we are thirsty on a hot day? In today's verse, we find that the wells of salvation are provided by God. Jesus said to the Samaritan woman: "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water that I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (Jn.4:13-14). Jesus is offering to us here, the wonderful water of life. In Genesis twenty six, Isaac goes back to the wells that his father Abraham had dug, only to find that they had been filled with earth by the Philistines. So Isaac re-dug those wells and gave them the same names that his father had given them. His servants also dug in the valley and found a well of fresh water. We may face the same task that Isaac did. We may find it necessary to re-dig the wells to our Lord. Our spiritual neglect might allow the wells that God has graciously provided for us to become stopped up. The best time to dig those wells is before we get thirsty. We don't want our thirst to weaken us so much that the digging becomes too difficult. If it becomes too hard, we may get discouraged and quit. In time of spiritual drought, God offers the wells necessary to quench our thirst with the water of life. It is up to us to keep the wells flowing....

Have a great day....Let His light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
