In The Moment

"The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus" (1 Tim.1:14).

It seems that many people find themselves shackled by things that they have done in the past. Don't get me wrong, being penitent for past misgivings is perfectly natural. Dwelling on them to the extent that they affect our Christian walk in a negative way, however, is a completely different thing. One of the wonders of Christianity is the abundance of forgiveness that comes along with it. Though this may not alleviate us from the consequences of past misdeeds, it does help us to do away with the guilt. In today's verse, the apostle Paul explains about this in light of his checkered past...He copped to being a blasphemer and a persecutor, but did not live in a guilty state. He knew that in Jesus Christ, that he was able to, live in the moment... He had to! It is a great lesson for all of us. We are to live in the present, with an eye toward the future. In the third chapter of the Book of Philippians, Paul stresses this at least twice. "Forgetting what is behind and straining for what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" (3:13-14)....."I consider everything a loss to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things" (3:8). It is positive thinking that will keep us on the right path. It is understanding that what I do right now will impact my future. Even when faced with the most difficult of obstacles, knowing that there are greater things awaiting us should see us through. Lets all live the life that GOD wants us to live.....Right now.....In the moment....

Have a wonderful day... Do good, give Him the credit.... Love mark Phil.4:11
