Giving - Getting More Out Of It

"Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God" (2 Cor.9:10-11).

Most of us know and have experienced the wonderful feeling that accompanies the giving of a gift. There's really nothing like it....When we give back to the Lord in the proper manner, that giving is a manifestation of God's grace in our lives. The apostle Paul talks about those who are helped by the giving in the ninth chapter of Second Corinthians. In summing up the chapter he writes: "And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you" (V 14). This surpassing grace God has given you has been displayed in their unselfish demonstration of loving concern for fellow believers who are in desperate straits...People that they did not even know...Generosity in giving has its germ in the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ that our God gave to us. Jesus' humiliation (2 Cor.8:9) is a powerful demonstration of His grace toward us. As we give, we are to learn about the blessedness that tags along with it. The Psalmist's words ring true...."How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will deliver him in a day of trouble. The Lord will protect him and keep him alive, and he shall be called blessed upon the earth" (41:1-2) We will miss out on this blessing if our giving is not what it should be. We will miss the needs that our Lord is just waiting to supply us with.."And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Phil.4:19). Lets not miss God's providential care both in this life and in the eternal one. Lets not miss the wonderful fellowship in the work of others. Finally, lets be clear...Giving blesses the one who gives, more than the one who receives....

Have a wonderful day... RAKs are personal gifts.... Love mark Phil.4:11
