Things To Learn

"But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and blessed your ears, because they hear. For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it" (Matt 13:16-17).

In Matt.5:3-11, Jesus speaks about people that are blessed in a section of The Sermon on the Mount that we refer to as The Beatitudes. You can probably recite many of them. In today's verse, Jesus is talking to a large group of people and has just taught them the Parable of the Sower... When asked why he spoke in parables, he told them it was so that the secrets of the kingdom of heaven could be revealed to them. Today's verses tell them (and us) how blessed our eyes and ears are. Why? Because we get to hear the words right from the master's mouth that even the prophets and righteous men of old did not get to hear. A true benefit of getting to listen to a sermon is that we can be blessed by what we hear. There are wonderful blessings to those that are willing to listen and learn. Things that pertain to great blessings that are only available in Jesus Christ.... "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Eph.1:3). By listening to the words of Jesus, we become beneficiaries of every spiritual blessing that belongs to and comes from the heavenly realm.... Through Jesus' words, God in a triumphal manner is able to display His manifold wisdom to us. If we do not listen carefully, we may miss out on these blessings. Blessings that even the greatest men and prophets of the Old Testament were not privy to. Lets make sure that we don't miss out on these potentially wonderful blessings as we are able to avail ourselves with our eyes and ears, the words of the Lord spoken to us. There's one more benefit tomorrow....

Have a wonderful day.... If we don't make a difference, who will? Love mark Phil.4:11
