Real Freedom - Jesus Set The Tone

"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves..... For even Christ did not please himself but, it is written: 'The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me'" (Rom.15:1, 3).

We live in an imperfect world. One of the things that contributes to this imperfection is the prevailing attitude that people have in their relationships with one another. The strong are often not considerate of the weak, and bearing with one another is just a cliche. In today's verses, the apostle Paul tells us how it should be and who set the tone. Within the strength of our freedom in Christ should come the desire to humble one's self to the weaknesses of others. "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." Jesus did not come to please Himself, but to do the will of the Father. He did not come to be served, but rather to serve. Lets just imagine for a moment a fellowship where these principles are followed. People would be constantly attempting to build one another up. Rather that just thinking about assembling for one's personal benefit, we would be concerned about the impact of our absence. A person would be willing, as a matter of course, to forego certain freedoms in Christ. They would do this in order to be patient with those who are weaker in faith in order to serve. A person would not want to press issues or ideas on those whose conscience would not allow them to take part. Instead, they would seek alternate, less offensive solutions to accomplish the same goals. "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God" (1 Cor.10:31). With the exercise of freedom in a proper mode, an atmosphere of love, unity, and service would prevail. Our fellowships would thrive when we act this way... They would thrive for the right reason..... For the glory of God..

Have a wonderful day... Do good, give Him the credit.... Love mark Phil.4:11
