Swords Into Plowshares

"Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (Jas.1:3-4).

Perspective is an important trait to possess. It is a way of looking at things so that we can make the best out of each situation. "They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks" (Isa.2:4). This didn't mean that there would never be any need for weaponry, but at that time, growing stuff was more important than warring with others. It is about perspective. It is occasionally good to look at the past to gain a better perspective of the present. Maintaining a proper and healthy perspective about difficulties is often critical to how we get through the rough times. This is true in dealing with interpersonal relationships and those within the fellowship. Things are likely to happen that will threaten peace and harmony within a congregation. How we deal with such things determines whether many apples will fall off the cart or we are able to stabilize it. Good marriages are made even better and stronger when couples are willing to work through their difficulties. Those that are able to keep the proper perspective in these times often become the best advisors to those with problems... Perspective and wisdom are not sprinkled on us like fairy dust. James writes: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him" (1:5). Just as we should seek wisdom from the Lord as individuals, so should we do so as congregations. We must assess each situation with godly perspective because He gives us reason to be thankful for whatever situation we find ourselves in. When we are willing to view ourselves as God sees us, we are well on our way to gaining the right perspective....

Have a great day... Christians should make a difference..... Love mark Phil.4:11
