Faitholine

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Heb.11:6).

As I have looked at the long lines to get gasoline in the parts of NJ and NY most severely affected by Sandy, I am reminded of the importance of that petroleum distillate.. Whether the car is a hoopty or a Rolls, it won't run without that great giver of power... Without it we can't even get the car started. Without faith, we cannot get our relationship with God started. In today's verse we find that if we don't have an ample amount of it, it is impossible to please God. It clearly says that this is the foundational part of our relationship with Him. Here in the eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews, we find what I like to term the Faith Hall of Fame.

As a matter of fact, in my Bible the chapter has the sub-title, By Faith.... It might be good for us to take the time to read about these great people of faith and meditate upon them. Faith can be looked at as the underlying element in our salvation. It is also the linchpin when it comes to our service to God. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Gal.2:20). With Christ living in us, we are constrained by that faith to a life service to Him. Faith becomes that motivational force behind our actions. As gasoline powers up our cars to serve us, our faith is the real catalyst for the power from God that we so sorely need. It is a power beyond what we might believe and enables us to overcome all obstacles. Our Christian growth requires power from God, and faith is needed to get to it... High octane faitholine...

Have a great start to your week....Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
