When You Least Expect It

"I have told you this that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete" (Jn.15:11).

We all have certain expectations in life. We expect to get up tomorrow morning and to do certain things. We have expectations about our relationships with people, especially those to whom we are close. Life gets better for us when those around us exceed our expectations. Jesus has this way of exceeding our expectations... "Now seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matt.6:33). It is when we learn not to make material things, physical pleasures and fame our life goals that Jesus' promises kick in. When we make his teachings our way of life this wonderful verse springs to life in us. Even the material things of life are promised to those who put him first (see verses 31-32). If we take a look at today's verse by itself, you might wonder what is that Jesus told us that His joy would be in us and also be complete... "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's command's and remain in his love" (Vs 9-10). The great joy that will be ours revolves around our love for Him and our obedience to His commands. Jesus completes the love cycle this way.... "My command is this: 'Love each other as I have loved you'" (V 12). What a wonderful and great pleasures await those who love the Lord. A joy that is complete and no desire to have earthly stuff as our priority. And about that fame... For those in the Lord, an everlasting fame waits for us as we will live with Him forever. We will find true riches, fame, and pleasure in our service to him.. We will be blessed.... It is something we can expect....

Have a great day... Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
