Good Attitudes

"Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work" (2 Tim.2:21).

We often look at people and make judgements about them according to the talents they possess. Our talents can carry us a long way, but they have limitations. All the talent in the world cannot make up for the wrong attitudes. With the proper attitude, we can utilize our talents to their optimum.. When it comes to accomplishing things for the Lord in the field of service, our efforts are enhanced with the right attitude. That dreaded tag of potential is replaced by the much more useful one of performance. There are several areas in which we should be concerned about our attitudes if we want to be useful in the Lord's service. Today's verse is an admonition by Paul to Timothy about being prepared for every good work... We need to have the proper attitude toward God, others, ourselves, and the work. Our attitude toward God begins with loving Him with all our hearts, souls, and minds. It goes on to having a powerful faith and trust in Him, tempered by an attitude of thankfulness. When it comes to others, our attitude must also begin with love and continue into cooperation. Our appreciation about others and their work will grease the wheels of progress within the church, so that more will get done. The attitudes of hospitality, gentleness, friendliness, and forgiveness will lead to peace within a fellowship. When it comes to ourselves, we must begin with an attitude of humility. We must have an eagerness to learn, and be honest about our mistakes, being willing to admit our wrongs... Lastly, when it comes to the work, an attitude of privilege should come first. We should look at working for the Lord as a badge of honor. We must approach it with enthusiasm, diligence, initiative, and persistence. The woodcutter of Ecclesiastes 10:10 increased the work he was able to do by keeping his axe sharpened. If the work of the Lord is to go along smoothly, we need to hone our attitudes. Our relationship with God, others, ourselves and the work will improve, and we will be useful for the Master, prepared for every good work....

Have a great day.... Let the Lord's light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
