Our Soverign God

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on his shoulders; And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." (9:6-7).

We certainly live in a turbulent and uncertain world. Since 9/11, many of our freedoms have been compromised and going to the airport will never be the same again.. It would be easy for us to filled with anxiety, wondering what the future holds and if we should be worried about our well-being. To those of us that live in the Northeast, Hurricane Sandy brought us to a reality not related to terrorism or war. In times like these, what attitude should a Christian hold in regard to our future and well-being? The word sovereign refers to one who possesses a great deal of power within a particular sphere. I believe that God is in control of the whole world. The part that I am most interested about is within the sphere of the Christian.... Jesus is the Supreme Ruler of His Kingdom. He says: "But seek first His Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matt.6:33). For this reason, we do not have to look at the future with anxiety. Even if we are persecuted, Jesus as our sovereign will provide the way. (read Matt.5:10-12).. Jesus can and will help us to weather any storm that life can throw at us. His sovereignty began when he was raised from the dead and when we are united with Him in that resurrection, we can enjoy His sovereign rule. Jesus is indeed the King of kings and the Lord of Lords... We must remember that our true strength is in the Lord. The answer is not in military might, but in righteousness, wisdom, and knowledge... It resides in that intimate relationship that we have with Jesus... So.... "Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. And the peace that surpasses all comprehension will guar your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Phil:6-7). God is in charge.... Jesus is our King....

Have great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
