Manifesting A Disciple's Love

"Yet a time is coming and now has come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers that the Father seeks" (Jn.4:23).

It is one thing to profess love, and another to demonstrate it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with professing love. I close each devotional with a profession of love. As Jesus was speaking to the Samaritan women in today's verse, he told of how a true disciple must manifest his or her love. A disciple will demonstrate his love through worship.... A true and spiritual love and a genuine worship... Once we know who we are to love, it is contingent that we understand how we are to manifest it. Worship is certainly one of those ways. We tend to assume that we are speaking only of those times when we meet on the first day of the week when we mention worship. I would never assume to minimize the importance of our public worship, but Jesus set another bar for us when it comes to communicating with the Father. "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" We manifest our love for God each time that we go to Him in private prayer and devotion. He expects nothing less. Another way that we manifest our love for God is through our fellowship together. Jesus makes a wonderful promise to us..."For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them" The assembly does not have to be a big one, it just has to be in His name. When the apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth about their worship he said this: "When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church" ( 1 Cor.14:26). A true disciple will manifest his love for God and his brethren through fellowship. He will do this both in the weekly assembly and in the home. A disciple should do nothing less....

Have a wonderful day... Let His light shine through you... Love mark Phil.4:11
