Striking A Balance

"If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it" (1 Cor.12:26)

Whether we are on the job, on a team, or in a club, there is one aspect that always rings true. What we get out of the experience is in direct proportion to what we put in. Now I don't view this as some new idea that has never been explored.. More than likely, this has always been the case. In today's verse a body of believers, that being a local church, is being referenced. The previous verse says: "So that there be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other." These two verses would certainly be good ones to meditate upon. The famous self-made millionaire Andrew Carnegie said this: "It marks a big step in your development when you come to realize that other people can help you to do a better job than you can do yourself." Involvement in a local church should be a blessing to you and to those around you. Certain mind sets ought to be employed to insure that our worship experience within the church is beneficial to all, and it starts with me. We ought to be appreciative of others and their work, and not be remiss to tell them...There is a long list of characteristics that a Christian must display in order for a church to function as smoothly as possible. We need to be friendly and warm. The apostle Paul gives us sound advice in his letter to the Philippian church.... "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others" (2:3-4). Our concern for each other tempered by humility should lead us to cooperate with a peaceable spirit. Our demeanor should be marked by meekness, kindness, friendliness and warmth. Throw in a forgand patient spirit marked by love and the local church should flourish.. As the Lord blesses us, we should put those blessings to work in making His church what it was intended to be... Put good stuff in, and we will get good stuff out....

Have a great day... Make a difference... Love mark Phil.4:11
