Don't Dance Through Life

"For God is not unjust to remember your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister" (Heb.6:10).

In the Broadway Show Wicked, Fiyero is a young man who wants to be as non-committal about life as possible. He sings a song entitled Dancing Through Life... Here are some of the lyrics... "But I say, why invite stress in? Stop studying strife and learn to live the unexamined life... Dancing through life skimming the surface, gliding where turf is smooth... Life's more painless for the brainless, why think too hard? When its so soothing.... Dancing through life, no need to tough it when you can slough it off as I do. Nothing matters, but knowing nothing matters...Its just life so keep dancing through"... Many who claim to be church members try to dance through their church life. They become drifters, and miss out on some of the most important aspects of being a Christian within a fellowship of believers. Being a church member comes with a responsibility to commitment... These people run the danger of becoming permanent visitors rather than active and vibrant members. One of the reasons that I like to watch NFL games is because I realize my place.... I'm a spectator.. I have no desire to be out there on the field with those big, strong, fast men. One of the greatest things about church membership is that we get to be participants rather than spectators. As we support our local church with our active involvement, we become a blessing to others while being richly blessed ourselves. Look at the words of today's verse and know that God "remembers your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name....." Why? "in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister." The person being described here is not dancing through life... This person is working, laboring, and ministering... Lets all get out of the stands and into the game. We will have more fun, gain more satisfaction, and most of all.... Please God...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
