Being Well - Spiritually

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Pet.3:18).

When I was about fourteen years old, the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show came along. It became my favorite, and I still watch it on DVD from time to time. One of the characters that Bullwinkle portrayed was a pompous expert on all subjects called Mr. Know-It-All. What made it so funny was that he didn't know it all, and in typical Bullwinkle fashion, weird things happened. When it comes to our spiritual well-being, it is never good to be a know-it-all... The apostle Peter concludes his second epistle, with the words of today's verse. I think that Peter is telling us to keep on learning... Learning will often encourage us to interact with other Christians in our quest for greater understanding. When we learn new things it does wonders for our self-esteem and we develop a feeling of competency. In our never ending search for spiritual knowledge, we should be setting personal goals that are a reflection of deeply held values. We should not be driven be external values which produce only temporary satisfaction. In our pursuit of Godliness, we will gain a satisfaction that transcends the temporal and is deep and lasting. An integral part of the unity of the church revolves around our mutual learning and edification... "Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph.4:13). Let us take every opportunity afforded to us to learn more and more. Private study is wonderful... So are Bible classes in which we are presented chances to learn more through study and interaction. Perhaps we should strive to become Mr. Want-To-Know-It All....

Have a wonderful day... Let His light shine through you... Love mark Phil.4:11
