The Hunt

"Those that seek the Lord lack for no good thing" (Psa.34:10).

There was a time when humans hunted animals out of necessity. Today, especially in this country, it has evolved into a recreational activity. I am not here to comment on the pros or cons of hunting, but about the rationale. Most hunters will tell you that there is a challenge, thrill, and joy in the hunt. There should be that attitude in people when they seek the Lord. To seek the Lord is good... "Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always" (Psa.105:4). We should never stop seeking for the Lord. There is always something new that we will find in Him... "The Lord's lovingkindnesses never cease, for his compassions never fail" (Lam.3:22-23). As great and wonderful as the seeking of Jesus is, there is something even better.... Much better! When we find the Lord, our greatest satisfaction ought to be in our obedience to Him. "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching" (Jn.14:23)..... "Whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son" (2 Jn.9). When one finds the Lord, they are constrained to serve Him. We will want to lift up our brethren in worship. We will also want to witness to those in the world. Our witness will be shown through those Christ-like virtues we have made a part our everyday self. The hunt is great... In our obedience and service our hunt comes to fruition. "The Lord is my portion.... Therefore I will hope in Him...." (Lam.3:24).

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
