The Kind of Example

"Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe" (1 Tim.4:12).

Today's verse is much more than just some good advice to a young preacher. In it are some virtues we ought to strive for in order to set an example as a Christian. If we contain the traits enumerated in this verse, we will show to the world what it means to be a Christian. It may cause us to ask a few questions... Am I showing new Christians my maturity in the Lord as His disciple? Am I helping or hindering their discipleship? Am I serving as a positive role model when it comes to the service of the Lord and His church? Is my example helping or hampering the progress of the church and the cause of Christ. These are all good questions that we should try to answer in a positive way regarding our Christian walk... Speech.... Conduct.... Love.... Faith.... Purity.... These are wonderful virtues that we should try to incorporate into our every day life. They should be woven into the fabric of our lives so that we reflect them without actually thinking about it... There is so much talk out there... Our talk should be backed up by our walk. Everyone might not be able to preach a sermon, but we can all be and reflect one... As we work toward making these virtues second nature, we will be setting a good example for others so that they will use their abilities for Jesus... We now know the what, the why, and the how..... It is up to us to set the bar high in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity....

Have a great day... Go about doing good.... Love mark Phil.4:11
