Why We Need Hope

"Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure" (1 Jn.3: 2-3).

Lives without hope are.... well.... hopeless! Lets take a quick look at why a vigorous and energetic hope is so essential in our lives... We should have a hope that we will one day be like Jesus, and this hope is what ought to motivate us to live a pure an moral life. Jesus is our wonderful example of purity and morality, and we should be inspired to be like Him. Without this vibrant and energetic hope, we just can't be stimulated to grow spiritually. "We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thess.1:3). When we exercise, it is with the hope that we will gain strength and endurance. We hope for the same reasons, and as Christians this hope leads us to eagerly awaiting what is to come. If we don't have this vigorous and vibrant hope, we will not have the strength and endurance to persevere... "and we exult in the hope of the glory of God" (Rom.5:2). A hope of this magnitude is a joyful one because it leads to patience. Even though we might hit a few of the speed bumps of life, we can have the joy of our hope that is before us. Sometimes during a workout, we may not feel like finishing. The hope that we will be better having finishing it, leads us to completion... A life without a vigorous and vibrant hope is one that is devoid of joy... The despair that others feel stems from an absence of hope... Ours should always be there.... Some more about hope next time...

Have a great day... Practice kindness... Love mark Phil.4:11
