Walk and Light

"If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 Jn.1:6-7).

Walk and light are two very commonly used terms in the Bible. Their usage, however, is never within the classic meanings of the terms. Walk does not mean putting one foot in front of the other, and light is not that electromagnetic radiation from the sun. The apostle John wrote this letter to some people who were having some problems with their Christian walk... False teachers were trying to shed false light upon them and lead them on a walk that they should not be on. Almost all of the time in the Bible, walk refers to one's manner of life. It is not just enough to believe the truth... If one is to have fellowship with God (the Light), they are required to also follow (walk) the truth. The one who believes and obeys the truth of God's Word walks in the light. When in the light, Christians have fellowship both with God and one another. This happens because the blood of Christ, shed on the cross, cleanses sinners... As long as Christians continue in their walk of faith, Christ never stops cleansing. The usage of the word walk suggests and ongoing affair or a continuous action. As long as a Christian continues to walk in the light and have fellowship with God, Christ continues to cleanse him or her from their sin. We don't have to feel like we've fallen off a cliff when we err, because of this wonderful peace that we have in Christ. The world only offers darkness... In Christ one lives and basks in light. The Christian lives with God, and God is Light... As we walk in the light, lets allow it to reflect on others, as we serve Him through serving others...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
