How To Hate - Sin

"I gain insight from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path" (Psa.119:104).

Its easier to love a cute little puppy than a rattlesnake... Some things are just easier to love... Moses had some choices to make and often he made the correct ones... "He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time" (Heb.11:25). It can be enticing to love sin because it is often pleasurable. Even though the pleasure is most often short-lived, it is enticing nonetheless. "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed" (Jn.3:20). Just how does one get out of the sin cycle of life? Why did Moses choose a life of mistreatment with God's people rather than a more physically pleasurable one? "By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter" (Heb.11:24). Moses chose a more austere life because of his great faith... By faith, we can do the same! The faith necessary to hate sin comes from our knowledge that Jesus is truly the beloved Son of God, and that He is the Messiah foretold by the prophets. The faith necessary to hate sin comes from knowing that Jesus died for our sins, and He did this because He loved us. The faith necessary to hate sin emanates from the fact that God raised Jesus from the dead to prove that His death was an acceptable sacrifice for us. It is this kind of faith that constrains us to obey the gospel. It is this kind of faith which will effectively deal with the love of sin.. Lets see next time how we can gain such a faith...

Have a great day... Do good... Give God the Glory... Love mark Phil.4:11
