The Joy Source

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Phil.4:4)

The Lord never intended for His people to be joyless. Jesus said; "I have told you this that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete" (Jn.15:11). The apostle Peter calls it "an inexpressible and glorious joy." (1 Pet.1:8). The passing pleasures of sin have always proven to be very temporary in nature as opposed to the joy of the Lord. If we fail to remember the things graciously given to us, we are destined to be robbed of the degree of gladness, joy, and delight we ought to have. Through the Lord, we have every reason to do what Paul says in today's verse. Reflection from time to time on those things is something we should never fail to do... One of the great sources of Joy in the Christian life emanates as a natural consequence of our faith. "Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your joy in Jesus Christ will overflow on account of me" (Phil.1:25-26). Our great faith in God is able to get rid of an attitude that will prevent joy from occurring. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus dispelled the notion that anxiety, doubt, and fear should be dominant forces in one's life. Our faith is directly proportional to an adherence to the Word, and that faith produces joy. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Rm.15:13). As we read and meditate on the Lord's Word, our faith will grow, as will our joy... More joy sources tomorrow....

Have a wonderful day... Make the Joy of the Lord your Strength.... Love mark Phil.4:11
